Terms of use
These terms apply to the JaanchLo website and to JaanchLo inside ChatGPT. By using either, you agree to them.
1. What JaanchLo is
JaanchLo is a free, open-source tool that checks the text of messages, and the details of calls, for patterns common in scams in India. It returns a verdict (Safe, Be careful, or Danger), reasons, and suggested next steps. It is provided by Regnor as a public-good project, free of charge.
2. A second opinion, not a guarantee
JaanchLo uses fixed rules. It can miss a new kind of scam, and it can flag a genuine message. A "Safe" verdict does not mean a message is safe to act on, and a "Danger" verdict is not a legal finding about any person. JaanchLo is not legal, financial or police advice. When in doubt, do not pay, do not share an OTP, and call the National Cyber Crime Helpline on 1930.
3. Acceptable use
Do not use JaanchLo to design, test or improve scam messages, to harass anyone, or to overload or attack our service. We may block abusive traffic.
4. Open-source licences
The code is licensed under AGPL-3.0 and the dataset under CC-BY-4.0. See the repository for details.
5. No warranty and limitation of liability
JaanchLo is provided "as is", without warranties of any kind. To the extent the law allows, Regnor is not liable for any loss arising from reliance on a verdict, including money lost to fraud.
6. Changes and governing law
We may update these terms and will change the effective date when we do. These terms are governed by the laws of India.
